Duval County voters cast 195,803 ballots through Friday, Oct. 30, according to the county elections office's nightly update.
At the time, Elections Supervisor Jerry Holland called the turnout a midterm election record for Duval County and projected 50,000 more early voters before Election Day, First Coast News reported. The countywide turnout rate stood at 29.88%.
That is up from 24.21% just two days earlier, when the Oct. 28 nightly update showed 158,637 total ballots. The Oct. 30 single-day count alone was 19,271 votes.
As we reported Oct. 29, the county had already crossed 141,000 ballots earlier in the week. The total grew by more than 37,000 ballots in the two days between the Oct. 28 and Oct. 30 updates.
Beaches early-voting locations
Two early voting locations serve Beaches residents: Beaches Branch Library at 600 3rd St. in Neptune Beach and Jacksonville Beach Community Center at 2508 S. Beach Pkwy. Both are among 24 sites open across Duval County.
Hours on Saturday, Oct. 31, and Sunday, Nov. 1, were 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Each location has a secure vote-by-mail ballot drop box inside, according to First Coast News.
Early in-person count already past 2022
More than 143,000 voters had cast early in-person ballots as of 10:30 a.m. Friday, according to First Coast News. That figure, which does not include vote-by-mail ballots, had already surpassed the 2022 midterm early in-person total by more than 6,000 votes.
The previous midterm high for early in-person voting was 164,000 in 2018, First Coast News reported. Duval County recorded 195,422 in-person early votes by Nov. 1, the elections office reported.
Vote-by-mail returns are running roughly half of recent midterm cycles, with more than 35,000 mail ballots in 2026 compared with 61,000 in 2022 and 65,000 in 2018, according to First Coast News.
Early voting ended Sunday, Nov. 1. The elections office reported 195,422 in-person early votes and total unofficial turnout of 232,465, or 35.48%, including vote-by-mail ballots. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
