The pediatric clinic at 274 Third Ave. S. in Jacksonville Beach has a new owner.
Baptist Health acquired the Jacksonville Beach and Southside locations of Pediatric Care Centers effective Nov. 1, the health system said in a news release. The Jacksonville Beach office is now Baptist Jacksonville Beach Pediatrics. The Southside location, at 8990 RG Skinner Parkway, is now Baptist Southside Pediatrics.
Baptist Health said the acquisition strengthens connections between community pediatric care and Wolfson Children's Hospital, which the release called "the region's only full-service hospital for children." Patients will keep seeing their same care teams at the same addresses, according to the release.
"Families should be able to access the care their children need as seamlessly as possible, whether that starts with their pediatrician close to home or requires the specialized resources of Wolfson Children's Hospital," Eric Fletcher, executive vice president and chief strategy officer at Baptist Health, said in the release.
The Jacksonville Daily Record also covered the acquisition on Nov. 2. Pediatric Care Centers is part of Privia Medical Group, a subsidiary of Alexandria, Virginia-based Privia Health, according to the Daily Record.
The Fleming Island location of Pediatric Care Centers is not part of the deal and will continue to operate under the Pediatric Care Centers name, the release said.
No response from Privia Health or Pediatric Care Centers appeared in available public records as of publication. Baptist Health's release did not disclose financial terms of the acquisition or the number of staff at the Jacksonville Beach clinic.
Families can reach Baptist Jacksonville Beach Pediatrics at 904-249-3373.
