Duval County voters had cast 158,637 combined early and mail-in ballots through Wednesday, Oct. 28, a 24.21% turnout five days before Election Day. Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland reported that 14,262 people voted in person on Oct. 28, according to the county's nightly early voting update. The cumulative total has climbed steadily since the first four days of early voting ended Oct. 23 with 79,691 ballots and a 12.16% turnout rate.

That means roughly 62,000 additional votes arrived in four days, based on the Oct. 23 and Oct. 27 nightly totals.

Early voting continues through Sunday, Nov. 1, at all 24 sites across the county, including locations at the Beaches. The full list of sites is available at duvalelections.gov. Registered Duval County voters can cast a ballot at any of the 24 locations.

Remaining hours

Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 30. Weekend hours shift to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, and Sunday, Nov. 1.

The General Election is Tuesday, Nov. 3, with polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

What to bring

Bring photo ID. Voters should have one or two forms of valid, current identification that include a photo and signature, according to the Supervisor of Elections office. Accepted forms include a Florida driver license, U.S. passport, military ID or student ID, among others listed on the elections office website. If a photo ID does not include a signature, voters will be asked to provide a second ID that does.

Voters who arrive without ID may still cast a provisional ballot, which a canvassing board later reviews for eligibility.

Holland said he anticipates long lines if voters wait until Election Day, according to a county press release urging residents to take advantage of early voting.
