Unregistered Beaches-area voters have until Monday, Oct. 5, to register for the Nov. 3 General Election.
Duval County Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland reminded residents that Oct. 5 is Florida's voter registration deadline for the general election.
Eligible Duval County residents can register in person at the Supervisor of Elections Office, 105 E. Monroe St. in Jacksonville, at any Jacksonville Public Library branch or online at duvalelections.gov.
The elections office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Residents with questions can call 904-255-VOTE (8683).
Florida law also provides a late-registration process for certain qualifying voters after the regular registration deadline.
The Nov. 3 General Election includes federal and state races, judicial retention votes and proposed constitutional amendments and revisions. All registered voters may participate regardless of party affiliation.
Voters who are already registered can also use the elections website to confirm their registration status and find their Election Day precinct.
Early voting begins Oct. 20
Duval County will offer early voting from Tuesday, Oct. 20, through Sunday, Nov. 1.
Two Beaches-area locations are among the county's 24 early voting sites:
- Beaches Branch Library, 600 Third St. in Neptune Beach
- Jacksonville Beach Community Center & Exhibit Hall, 2508 S. Beach Parkway in Jacksonville Beach
Registered Duval County voters may cast an early ballot at any of the county's early voting locations.
Hours vary during the early voting period. Sites will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 20-23; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 24-25; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 26-30; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 31-Nov. 1.
Secure ballot intake stations will be available inside early voting locations during voting hours.
Mail-ballot deadline is Oct. 22
Voters who want a vote-by-mail ballot sent to them must submit their request by 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22.
On Election Day, Nov. 3, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Unlike during early voting, voters must report to their assigned polling place.
Anyone in line when polls close at 7 p.m. may still vote.
Florida voters casting ballots in person must present current and valid identification containing a photograph and signature. Accepted identification includes a Florida driver license, Florida identification card, U.S. passport, military ID, student ID and debit or credit card, among other forms.
Voters who do not present the required identification may cast a provisional ballot.
