Parker's Kitchen wants to build a 5,204-square-foot gas station and convenience store at 11355 Beach Blvd., at the northwest corner of Beach Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff Road.

The city of Jacksonville is reviewing a permit for the project at a listed cost of $2.2 million, the Jacksonville Daily Record reported. The Savannah, Georgia-based chain, known for its Southern comfort food menu, bought the 1.59-acre property for $1.82 million on March 16 through an affiliate, DPC-FL LLC.

The site sits on one of the primary corridors connecting the Beaches to the rest of the metro area. It includes two parcels: a 0.55-acre lot at 11361 Beach Blvd. that holds a Checkers drive-thru built in 1993, and a 1.06-acre parcel at 3210 St. Johns Bluff Road listed in Duval County property records as vacant commercial land.

JEA issued a service availability letter April 2 for an unidentified convenience store at the same intersection, according to the Daily Record. Kimley-Horn & Associates of Jacksonville is the civil engineer on the project.

The Beach Boulevard location is one of at least six Parker's Kitchen sites in various stages of development across Clay, Duval and Nassau counties. The chain said in November 2024 it planned to open at least four Northeast Florida stores by the third quarter of 2026 at other locations: Wilson Boulevard in West Jacksonville, Alta Drive in North Jacksonville, Blanding Boulevard in Orange Park and William Burgess Boulevard in Yulee. Whether those stores have opened is unclear from available records.

By June, the chain had been identified for at least 11 locations across Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties, the Daily Record reported.

A separate Parker's Kitchen is also proposed at 9100 Atlantic Blvd. in the Regency area, on the site of a closed CVS Pharmacy. The chain paid $5.95 million for that property Sept. 22, 2025, and the city is reviewing site work for a 6,344-square-foot store there.

Amanda Thompson, Parker's Kitchen senior director of real estate and development, said in November 2024 that Jacksonville's population growth and retail market made the region attractive for expansion.

Parker's Kitchen owns and operates 110 stores across Georgia and South Carolina, according to an Aug. 12 company news release. Its closest existing location to Jacksonville is 32 miles north in Kingsland, Georgia. Founder Greg Parker opened the first store in Midway, Georgia, in 1976.

No opening date or construction timeline has been announced for the Beach Boulevard store.

The permit remains under city review.
