A five-day used book sale opens Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Beaches Branch Library in Neptune Beach, with most titles priced at $2 or less.
The Friends of the Beaches Branch Library, known as FOBBL, organized the sale at 600 Third Street. It runs through Saturday, Oct. 3. Proceeds support library programs for children and adults. Since 2022, the volunteer group has donated $65,544 to the branch, according to the organization.
The sale begins with a members-only preview on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. Members get first look at the collection and a chance to win a raffle basket. Individual annual memberships cost $10, family memberships $25 and student memberships for children up to age 12 cost $1. Shoppers can join at the door or online at fobbljax.org/join.
The sale opens to the public Wednesday, Sept. 30, through Friday, Oct. 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Saturday, Oct. 3, is Bag Day. For $12, shoppers fill a bag provided by the Friends with as many books as it will hold. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Beyond books, the sale includes DVDs, CDs, puzzles and other items. A Better Books section features individually priced titles. Cash and credit cards are accepted.
