A Jacksonville Beach nonprofit wants to pack 1,000 cyclists onto two miles of sand Friday evening and pedal its way into the record books while raising money for three Beaches-area charities.

The Bike Breakers Foundation's inaugural World's Biggest Beach Bike Ride rolls out Friday, Aug. 14, from the SeaWalk Pavilion to Atlantic Boulevard, according to the Beach Gazette. Founder Steve Howard organized the event as the nonprofit's launch, combining a Guinness World Records attempt for the "Largest E-Bike Party" with a fundraiser benefiting BEAM, V for Victory and Two Titmice Foundation.

Net proceeds benefit all three organizations, each rooted in the Beaches community. BEAM, the Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry founded in 1985, provided nearly 925,000 meals per year and spent about $895,000 annually covering overdue rent and utility bills for families in crisis as of fall 2025, according to the Florida Times-Union. V for Victory offers free everyday services to families battling cancer across Northeast Florida. Two Titmice Foundation directs every dollar raised to breast cancer patients in the Jacksonville area.

Check-in opens at 4 p.m. at SeaWalk Pavilion, 75 1st St. North, according to the Beach Gazette. The foundation's event listing shows a 5:30 p.m. check-in; riders should confirm timing at jaxbikebreakers.com. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with local DJs, food vendors and giveaways. The ride launches at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $35 for individual riders and $99 for a Family Fun 4-Pack, according to Folio Weekly. Children under 12 ride free. Both traditional bicycles and e-bikes are welcome. Every registration includes a "Bike Bucks" booklet with discounts at local restaurants and bars, plus a raffle entry for a Sun Cruiser Beach Cruiser or a Mango Superbird e-bike.

The Bike Breakers Foundation describes itself as a community movement centered on fitness, friendship and charitable giving, according to its website. Howard appeared on News4Jax's River City Live on July 27 to promote the ride.

Results of the world-record attempt are expected Saturday.
